Giveaway: Win a signed copy of Sweet Temptation by Maya Banks

A couple of weeks ago I was extremely fortunate enough to meet one of my favorite authors Maya Banks at a book signing in Arlington, TX. I was able to get a couple of my books autographed including my very first Maya book  Colter’s Woman.  I have a picture of both of us on my digital camera however I’ve misplace the cord that attaches to the camera and plugs into the computer. I’ve been looking for it everywhere. 😦

The good news is I have six signed copies of Sweet Temptation and one of the could be yours, just tell me what was the first Maya Banks book you read and what was your favorite scene in that book. Good Luck 🙂

Please welcome Dana Marie Bell

Delayed gratification has its place. This wouldn’t be it.

Gabriel Anderson has accepted a unique position in the shifter world. He’s about to become a Hunter, one of the few trained and sanctioned to hunt down the rare rogue shifter dangerous to humans and shifters alike. There’s one catch: until his training is complete, he must hold off on marking his mate. No problem…after all, she probably couldn’t handle the sexual demands he dreams of making on her.

Her mate’s apparent desertion devastates Sarah. And his friendship with another woman threatens the bond they should be sharing and building. Maybe flirting with another man will make him sit up and take notice—and finally win Gabe’s heart. It works. Almost too well.

One touch of another man’s hand on Sarah’s tempting body brings every ounce of Gabe’s possessiveness roaring to the surface. He wastes no time making his erotic dreams of dominating her a reality—whether she’s ready for it or not.

If she’s not, the only place he’ll ever have her is in his dreams…

Dana Marie, Thank you for agreeing to an author interview today.

Thank you for having me!

Can you tell everyone a little bit about yourself?

Hmm, let’s see. I’m a stay-at-home author, the mother of two boys, a bull terrier and an evil, ice cream stealing cat, and I’m a lapsed brunette. I’ve been with my husband for eighteen years and married for eleven.

How long have you been writing?

Off and on since I was thirteen years old. I was at the beach with family when I got an idea I just HAD to write down. I begged for pen and paper as soon as we got back to the house, wrote it down, and I’ve been writing ever since.

What is your writing process like?

Hair up, music on, husband… doing what the husband does. He telecommutes, so we work in the same office every day, the home office. And the music needs to be specific to the story, so I’ll start a whole new playlist for each one. I know that the current story is almost done when the playlist in my head starts to change. For instance, when I was almost done Bear Necessities I stopped hearing Coward of the County and started hearing Kiss From A Rose.

Can you tell us about your newest release Only In My Dreams?

Only In My Dreams is about Gabriel Anderson, sheriff, Marshall’s Second and newly minted Hunter, finding out that perhaps waiting to claim what’s his wasn’t the best move he could have made. Both Sarah, his mate, and Gabe wind up turning to other people to ease their loneliness and in the process each one of them gets the wrong idea. Gabe returns home to find Sarah with another man, and Sarah thinks that Gabe has chosen to be with someone else. It won’t take Gabe long to find out what’s going on, but convincing Sarah that she’s all he could ever need might take longer.

Will we be seeing more of the Halle Pumas in the future?

Oh yes! I just finished the rough draft of Bear Necessities, the first full-length Halle Shifter novel. I’m introducing a number of shifters in the future, not just Pumas, but you’ll definitely see more of the Halle Pride and the Poconos Pack. It hasn’t been submitted to Samhain yet, but I’ve warned my editor that it’s coming!

Do you have any other books releasing this year?

I don’t have a release date yet on Shadow of the Wolf, but it will be releasing soon from Liquid Silver Books. They’ve told me I’ll have the date soon, and once I know it will be blasted all over my blog. Shadow of the Wolf is the start of another series, Heart’s Desire, and is the story of that poor mage who got kicked out of my head by Max and Emma’s story, The Wallflower. It turns out that was a good thing, since Chris and Lana’s story became a full length novel rather than a novella!

shadowofthewolf-185x274Christopher Beckett, wizard and graphic artist, has finally given in to the urges of his inner wolf. He wants his mate, so he casts a spell to bring the perfect woman to him. What he gets is Alannah “Lana” Evans, a witch and a member of the powerful Evans clan. When a foe from Christopher’s past threatens them both Christopher will stop at nothing to defeat him. If he doesn’t, he could lose his life. Or worse: Lana.

What are you currently working on?

I’ve just sent Bear Necessities off to my “beta readers” and begun book 2 of The Gray Court series, Noble Blood. It’s Jaden, Duncan and Moira’s story from Dare To Believe, and so far Jaden has been a blast to write. Duncan isn’t going to know what hit him when sassy Moira and sexy Jaden decide to team up on him! But that work is barely begun, and even though I have a plot characters have a bad habit of traipsing off into the daisies when I need them there in the warehouse kicking bad guy bootie. So I don’t want to say too much about it until the rough draft is complete.

Where do you get your ideas for your books?

My brain, same as everyone else.  Honestly? I see something, and think, “What if?” For instance, I went on a family reunion cruise last month. As we were driving to the pier I looked out the window and saw three islands sitting in the distance. Two were brightly lit, but the third, the one in the middle, looked like it had been damaged by fire, it was so dark. When I looked again all three were brightly lit and there was no dark, so I can only assume a cloud was over that one island. It gave me an idea that I’ll be using in Book 2 of Heart’s Desire, Hecate’s Own.

As an author, you must be an avid reader. What books do you enjoy reading? Who are your auto-buy authors?

Auto-buy authors include Rowan McBride, Jayne Ann Krentz, TA Chase, JL Langley, Shelley Laurenston, Patricia Briggs and Lora Leigh. Yes, I love to read, and I read almost anything, but I tend to stick with stories that are either romances or have strong romantic elements, like the Liaden series by Steven Cook and Sharon Miller. Gender doesn’t seem to matter to me, only story. I’ll read cowboys, space cowboys, sci-fi regency/historical, historical (though they’re my least favorite), paranormal (fave!), contemporary or… did I leave a category out? LOL! I like almost everything.

What books are on your keeper shelf?

All of them. Very rarely do I get rid of a book. I have to HATE it to get rid of it, and I can count on one hand how many books I’ve not kept. We have a room in our house devoted to nothing BUT books!

What was the first romance book you read or the one book that has stood the test of time for you?

Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott. I was a child when I first read it, but I remember that the parts I wanted to read over and over again where how the girls wound up with their husbands, especially Amy. I loved her and Laurie together. And I’ve gone back and re-read it over and over again. I know not many people consider it a romance, but to me it was.

If you could switch lives with one of your characters who would if be & why?

Jordan of Very Much Alive. She’s got Kir and Logan, two of the sexiest men you’d ever want to meet, and brand-new, kick-ass powers, plus as a private investigator she’s got a carry-concealed permit. What’s not to like? Okay, there’s the whole psychotic grandfather aspect, but it’s a small price to pay to have those two!

When you are not writing or reading, what do you enjoying doing in your spare time?

Believe it or not, I love to play video games. I’m currently playing a lot of World of Warcraft. My Warlock is almost 70th! Next year I’ll be able to take on the Headless Horseman! (Yes, I’m that scariest thing of all: a weirdo geek! MUAHAHAHA!)

If you could ask readers any one question, what would it be? What would you like to see more of? And what would you like to see LESS of?
